Areas of Study

Students will take a combination of courses in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities as well as a research methods or technologies course such as statistics, qualitative methods, geographic information systems, or remote sensing technologies, for example. Each student will choose a primary and secondary concentration from one of two areas:

  • Earth and Environment: focus on the natural sciences, including climate, ecology, geomorphology, and more.
  • Environment and Society: focus on the social, political, economic, and cultural aspects of the environment and sustainability.

You will also complete a Senior Capstone project to showcase your accumulated knowledge and techniques learned from your studies.
